Tips for Float Therapy While Pregnant

1. The More Props, The Better

At Clear Mind Studio, we provide pool noodles, neck rests, and yoga blocks to help you find the most comfortable float position. As your body changes, you may want to try different positions. By the third trimester, you might prefer to float on one side, the side your baby is lying on. Props are essential for helping you get comfortable.

We recommend women in the later stages of pregnancy float in our open pool, which features handles for easy entry and exit. Please note, the open float pool is located at out Inglewood studio only.

2. Front and Back Lying are Preferred

Many pregnant women are eager to lie on their stomachs. Watch this video to discover eight different positions you can try in the float tank during pregnancy.

3. Bathrooms are Easily Accessible

With your baby pressing on your bladder and the need for extra hydration, frequent bathroom trips are inevitable. At Clear Mind Studio, our toilets are conveniently located down the corridor. We also provide extra-large robes for your comfort and privacy.

4. Louder Than Average Heartbeat for Mum

In the third trimester, some mums-to-be can hear their baby's heartbeat while floating. This doesn’t happen for everyone, but when it does, it creates a magical connection between you and your baby. Your heartbeat will also sound stronger due to the increased blood volume near the end of pregnancy.

5. Small High-Protein Meal Pre-Float

Eating frequent high-protein snacks can help with pregnancy nausea. Have a high-protein snack about an hour before your float to enhance your experience.

6. Guided Float Meditations to Calm Your Mind

Try our series of seven guided meditations, ‘The Essential Float Experience: Your toolkit to finding more calm, balance, and happiness than ever before.’ These meditations are designed to ease you into the float environment, making it easier to switch off, relax, and maximize the benefits of your session.
